A ballet in one act – Bartok’s Miraculous Mandarin

Another artistic collaboration this season will be with a ballet ensemble that will join us, with choreography by Ohad Fishof and Noa Zuk to Bartok’s Miraculous Mandarin. The intensive and vigorous music that Bartok composed for the one-act ballet-pantomime radiates tremendous inner strength. The tragic story of the ballet, the music of which Bartok completed in 1919, symbolizes a modern, threatening and materialistic world of dark violence, anxiety, aggressive and brutal conflicts.
